Illustrator Instructional Videos

This video will help me use the drawing tools and decipher which tools are most efficient for what I am trying to do. It also explains how to save my work and export it to other places if it is needed. I think this will video will be most useful for when we first start using illustrator to help me navigate it. He is very thorough in his instructions which will come in handy if I get confused.

This blog will definitely come in handy! It has 33 different sections about using different tools on Illustrator. It goes over the basics, tips and tricks, using different tools and more. Under each video is a description of what the video is about which will help if I have any specific questions. It also shows how to create shapes and and duplicate them.

This video explains more in depth about each tool such as the anchor points, use the curve tool and brush tool. They also go over the shape builder tool which is helpful to know specifics about. In a short amount of time he goes over a lot of tool and tips. It is very easy to follow and helps explain a lot of things I was confused with. He also explains using the keyboard to do things rather than using the tools on the screen.

PostCard IDHW1

  My Postcard is one that could be mailed from an island resort, such as Hawaii, Bali or many others. It is beachy, I inserted a photo from Pinterest that I had saved that matched my logo and the color scheme I wanted. I chose a more minimalistic approach because you can add more writing to the back and it looks cleaner and is aesthetically appealing. I added a white rectangle over the photo on the backside and lines for the sender to write their message on. I dropped the opacity on them so they looked more grey than black, which fit the colors better.
