My Updated Calligram
Est Time: (with the first one that I messed up on) 5 hours
I decided for my second try to make something that is meaningful to me. I did a set of waves and the sun. My favorite place to be, always, is the beach. I have a strong connection with the ocean and I could not imagine ever living far away from the beach, which I talked about in my letter. I also plan on getting the outline of the waves tattooed on my arm one day. I think the waves are a good symbol to describe this letter because it has to do with the waves of change and new phases of my life. The rays of the sun are words that describe me or things that I love. The sun represents my hope for all good things to come my way.
My letter to myself prt 2:
Dear Brooke 20 years in the future, Hello, how are you? You are 38 years old now, hopefully settled in your career, have a family, maybe kids now too. I hope you have spent the rest of your youth exploring, being curious and learning new things. I hope you have been to amazing places with people you love. I hope you live somewhere pretty, near the ocean with a nice neighborhood for your kid(s) to grow up in. I hope you are an Event Planner and photographer and love it. Go and use some of that money to go on vacation somewhere nice and warm. Go and see mom and dad whenever you can. I hope by now Covid is just a time we talk about and cringe, masks no longer are needed and we can be close to one another once again. I hope although you are older now, you still hang out with your friends and do fun things together. If we don't have a pool I am going to be very sad. Also a dog and a cat. How is your career going? Are you enjoying it, did you change what you wanted to do with your life or did it stay the same? Does it pay well, do you like your coworkers? I hope the very best for you in life. I hope the children grow up to be strong and independent who appreciate you like we appreciate our mom. I hope they are fun and make lots of friends and life comes easy to them. I hope you get to grow old with the person you love and watch the world around you change and be the old lady who doesn't understand “today's technology”. I hope the rest of this life is beautiful and you enjoy every minute of it. Love, Brooke from 20 years ago.
